I Will Work for APC — Portable Declares Support for Tinubu, Announces Rally
By Dike Godspower
Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable Omolalomi, has announced his intention to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Portable made the announcement in a video circulating on social media, where he claimed he had already received payment to organize a political rally supporting Tinubu.
The singer said his financial situation had improved after receiving the alleged payment and that he was now ready to show more support to the people on the streets.
“I was broke before; that’s why I haven’t been spraying money for the street, but now, I want to do a rally for Tinubu. They’ve paid me, I’ve collected money, and now I’ll show love to the street,” Portable said.
He further stated: “I have a lot of money now, I’ve been paid and I’m fully supporting Tinubu.” Portable also said he would host the rally next Tuesday as part of his planned political activities to support the President.
The development has drawn attention because the singer directly claimed he received payment for his planned political mobilization. Portable has previously shown support for Tinubu and the APC. In March 2026, he claimed he had been contacted to campaign for the President and said he had been given APC campaign clothing. However, the APC did not officially confirm the arrangement at that time.
His latest comments have again sparked discussions over the increasing involvement of entertainers and social media personalities in political mobilization ahead of the 2027 elections.
While Portable claimed that the APC paid him, there was no independent confirmation from the party regarding the alleged payment or the specific rally announced by the singer as of the time of this report.
