President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Abuja for Europe to begin a three-week vacation as part of his annual leave. The Presidency disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday, August 30, 2026, by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
According to the statement, London, United Kingdom, will be the President’s first destination during the vacation. President Tinubu is expected to spend the period on a working vacation before returning to Nigeria.
The Presidency said the President is expected to return home after the three-week break and join the campaign activities ahead of the January 2027 election.
The development comes as political activities surrounding the 2027 elections continue to gain momentum across the country.
The Presidency did not provide further details about the President’s itinerary or disclose the specific engagements scheduled during his stay in Europe.
