There was an outpouring of joy, jubilation and thanksgiving in the family of Amb. Uchechi Ogbonna as she and her family dedicated their child, Chris Chibueyim Gold, to God.
The newborn was dedicated at Overcomers' Christian Mission International Inc., Egbu, in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State, last Sunday.
The ceremony, marked by thanksgiving and celebration, was attended by relatives, friends, business associates and political associates from within and outside the state, who joined the family in offering prayers and goodwill messages. In his sermon titled “Lord, I Want My Own,” the man of God urged worshippers to commit their legitimate desires to God, stressing that God is a merciful and abundant God who answers the prayers of those who trust in Him.
He also encouraged Christians to live upright lives and work diligently toward economic prosperity, comfort and peace, noting that those who place their absolute trust in God would continue to bear fruitful results.
During the dedication, Pastor Austin Ogbonnaya Obasi prayed for and anointed the child before presenting her at the altar for divine guidance and protection throughout her life. He also prayed for God's continued grace, sustainability and blessings upon the Ogbonna family.
Expressing her gratitude to God for safe delivery and the gift of children, Amb. Uchechi Ogbonna pledged to remain faithful and thankful for God's mercy and kindness toward her family.
“My strength comes from God, whom I give praises for a safe delivery and the gift of children. I encourage people to trust in God because He neither disappoints nor fails those who believe and trust in Him,” she said.
Amb. Ogbonna also thanked her husband for being a wonderful and caring man, while appreciating everyone who joined the family to celebrate the occasion.
The event ended in an atmosphere of joy and merriment as family members, friends and well-wishers celebrated the dedication of the newborn.
