Wike Reveals Why APC Did Not Use Federal Might to Win Osun Governorship Election
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) could have easily won the recent Osun State governorship election if the Federal Government had deployed its full political influence.
Wike made the statement while commenting on the outcome of the election, suggesting that the APC did not make maximum use of the advantages available to the ruling party at the federal level.
According to the minister, the Federal Government deliberately refrained from deploying its full political machinery during the election.
He maintained that the outcome could have been different if the party had chosen to exercise its full influence.
Wike’s remarks are expected to generate reactions within political circles, particularly as political parties and key stakeholders intensify preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections. The Osun governorship election has continued to attract political attention, with parties assessing the factors that shaped the outcome and the implications for future electoral contests.
